Brown Dog to the Rescue.
One day Brown Dog waited for his best friend Emmeline. They were going
for a walk. The sun was shining and the birds were singing as Brown Dog
and Emmeline went into the big park.
They took it in turns to chase each other around the trees. A large
rabbit appeared and they began to chase after it. Brown Dog didn’t
really want to catch the rabbit because he was scared. He only pretended
to run fast. The rabbit ran and ran and soon could not be seen.
Feeling hot and thirsty, Brown Dog and Emmeline walked to the pond.
Emmeline bent down to drink some cool water. Splash! Plop! Emmeline had
fallen into the pond. Her fur became very wet and heavy. She started
barking loudly: ‘Brown Dog, Brown Dog, help me, save me.’
Brown Dog's body started to shake, he was really very, very scared of
water. Emmeline began to cry. Brown Dog shook his head from side to
side, he took a deep, deep breath and leaped into the water. He swarm
towards Emmeline, as he reached her, he put his paw underneath her
collar and gently pulled her to the edge of the pond. Soon they were
both standing on the grass, dripping wet!
Emmeline looked at Brown Dog and barked: ‘You saved me, you rescued me,
you are Super Dog!’ Brown Dog didn’t feel scared anymore, he felt brave
and very proud.
