WHAT DID YOU DO IN THE WAR GRANDPA?
What is a War grandpa?
The innocent boy speaks out.
He zaps another alien
on his X box cube.
And he asks the question again.
What is a War Grandpa?
Is it as exciting as this?
Grandpa sits with a tear in his eye
What is a war? He says
but in his mind he thinks
the unspeakable times he had.
What is a War Grandpa?
The innocent boy speaks again.
War, is something, I hope you’ll never see.
Where you in the war Grandpa?
A War to end all Wars
sixty years on , the futility
strikes him again.
What did you do in the War Grandpa?
I killed just like you are in the game.
The only problem is
they were real
and it was never ever a game.
What were you in the war Grandpa?
A soldier fully equipped?
I was a sniper boy who sneaked and hid
and did my killing bit.
Did you enjoy the War Grandpa?
I’ve nearly killed all of the men
I’ll win the War, destroy the town
Will you be proud of me then?
Smiled the little innocent boy.
