Katy
A little lost kitten,
Owner did not want it back,
Scratched the chairs so got the sack!
Curled up in a drawer of clothes,
A tiny ball of lovely fur,
She climbed up me with needle claws,
But I loved her noisy purr.
Katy came quite unexpected
I already had a cat
What was I to tell my parents?
She was there and that was that.
Walked around with flowers,
Loved to play with taps and sinks.
Ate the moths and caterpillars
Eco-friendly pet, me thinks.
Seven months she was our joy
Then one day my dad said she’d died,
Killed by a car, while I was at school.
He’d buried her by the rose outside
