FEAR
A wasp buzzing behind the curtain
Evading your every rubber-gloved move.
The sight of a small scuttling mouse
Making for a hideway instead of the open door
A dislodged box falling to the floor
Is it a cat or something other
Unknown footsteps outside the house
Will they pass on or walk around
A ring on the bell, a shape through the glass
A shape familiar or a shape unknown
Someone you know but don’t expect
Creeps up on you all unaware of the shock
That is caused till you jump with fright !
