                            FLOWERS ON THE WATER
(He's still everywhere - dedicated to my dad)

Flowers on the water, ashes in the wind
Fishes in the ocean, birds upon the wing
Love is all around us and music's in the air
The sun is going down on him but he's still everywhere

He used to say to me when I was just a lad
Always see the good in folk never see the bad
As they take advantage with their crafty little schemes
Plough the straight and never path and try to reach you dream

All throughout his life he was always strong
He always had the time to punctuate it with a song
And music was his mistress she led him by the hand
And you could always hear him playing in the band

He swam the lakes and rivers and climbed the mountains high
He was always with you with a twinkle in his eye
Too big to be defeated you'd never see him down
A rock beyond destruction he'd always be around

And now his course is run and his time has come at last
He always said look forward son don't dwell amongst the past
So I celebrate his life and I miss him every day
But all the things he valued still live in me today
