Poems by Annie Diamond
Afterthought
You don't know what you have
Until it's gone
I'm an afterthought to you.
You remind me of the man
Who hated his job
But after he quit
He suddenly realised
A job is important
Finding a new one is no easy thing.
So now you are lonely
You want me back
You're begging to return
Finally you realise
It's best to be thankful
Than to keep longing
For something else.
I wish you well
In finding what you want,
I know its not me.
Do not contact me again
Goodbye.
