Rubbish

The remains of today go into the bin

Paper and scraps and an eye on the cat

As I push down the remnants of

stale chicken fat

Her paw’s at the ready

But so is my foot

As I nudge her aside

And always from the loot

Pussy owes me no grudge

For the deftly aimed nudge
