For You Flowers in spring As the birds start to sing, Have we done with the rain? Oh! What a pain, The wind it was bad, But don’t be so sad. The daffs are in bloom, Not a moment too soon. Everywhere there are buds And bluebells in woods. The seeds soon to be sown Will come into their own. Warmer weather is comin’ And I’ll tell you somethin’. It’s not a moment too soon. Lighter clothes will be fine, I’ve already sorted mine. So cheer up and smile, It’s only a while, ’Til we’re all warm again. No more wind and no rain. We can all jump and run, We’ll have fun in the sun By Edward Holdsworth

First Day So what shall I do, I’m over the flu? I don’t know about you But I’m ready to go. So the question is Where to for a change? I’m on my own now, Can please myself how. To plan and decide, Don’t want a long ride. Abroad I have been So that’s not my scene. A coach ride will do, Then a hotel with a view. Good food is a must. A buffet is best. Breakfast the test Of where I will be Having my tea. To the market I’ll go Taking time, nice and slow. Round about noon, It comes very soon, A snack will be great. T’was early I last ate. Beans on toast is just fine And a glass of red wine. The next big attraction, To keep up the action, Is to see a good show. Local info will know. And then I’ll return Just in time to learn What’s for dinner. I’m on a winner. The weather is dry And I’m happy that I Have five days to go. By Edward Holdsworth
