Plaza Cinema Stockport                                        Compton Organ Plaza Stockport

The Plaza Super Cinema and Variety Theatre is a unique Grade II* Listed building that has survived almost intact, in its original use, making it a rare example of this building type in the north of England.

The current programme features cinema, including classic British Films, live stage shows, musicals, stand-up comedy and dance performances. Community use of the building is extensive with various operatic, dance, theatre and youth groups using the venue

The Plaza is the only Super Cinema in Britain that is operated by a Charitable Trust with the specific intention of restoring it to its former glory.  The Plaza is now almost 75 years old and, although maintained to the very highest standards, is in need of substantial investment to preserve and protect the building for years to come.
