Stockports Historic Parish Church St. Mary's in the Market Place OPEN EVERY TUESDAY, FRIDAY &SATURDAY 10:00 - 4:00pm. Heritage St. Mary's 14th. Century chancel is the oldest existing building in the district and stands at the heart of Stockport's historic town centre and the market place. Substantially rebuilt in 1817. The Church's Georgian Gothic architecture and fine Victorian stained glass windows are an inspiration, Help St. Mary's 'opendoor' approach to the local community and visitors to Stockport, offers help by providing space, with peace and quiet, in the busy town centre. The Rector and other Christians are on hand to listen to and talk with those who need a listening ear.
