The Bigger Part of Bullying We talk a lot about bullying in schools, but bullying doesn’t necessarily start in school. Just look at the whole concept of bullying. Children are born into bullying. From when time first began there has been bullying. Countries bully other countries; dictators bully their own people and other people; bosses bully their workforce; some of the workforce bully other workers; some protesters try to bully Ministers or councils to get what they want; husbands bully wives; wives bully husbands; some mothers bully their children or the whole household; some fathers bully their children or the whole household. We sometimes call bullying by different names but in the long run it still boils down to bullying. Then, of course, we get back to bullying in schools. Sometimes the bully turns into the victim, and other times the victim turns into the bully. Even babies try to bully other babies. If they want the toy that another baby has they will try and get it off them. That is still a form of bullying. Then they go to daycare centres and they try and bully the other children, and they are still only two or three years old. So what is bullying? It is someone intimidating someone else and it has been going on since time began. So how do we stop bullying? Does anybody know the answer to that? By Rita Joel.
