Prove we can do it Martin was sixty-seven-years old. He’d had a computer for years but had never done any thing on it, except maybe play some games and on the odd occasion go onto the internet. But one day he was talking to someone who happened to mention about downloading films on the computer. Now this was of great interest to Martin, so he asked about how you go about downloading films on to the computer as he loved his films. He was told he had to have a hard drive in his computer, he said he had one and set about trying to down load films. He didn’t have much success at first and he was getting very frustrated but he kept on trying. Then it happened, he had downloaded a film from the internet onto his computer. So he kept downloading his films and he was very pleased with him self. Then one day someone told him he could download films and watch them on his television. Now Martin really took an interest as he could then download the films both he and his wife Mary could watch. He asked around and read up on how to do it. He had to put a disc into his computer, download the film and then burn it onto the disc. Again it took him quite some time to learn how to do this, but with a bit of patience and persistence he finally learnt how to do it. Of course, he could have done some kind of course to learn how it could be done, but Martin wasn’t that kind of man he didn’t like doing courses. So he just kept on trying until he got it right. You see with a bit of patience and a bit of persistence we older computer users can conquer the computer. By Rita Joel. Prove we can do it click play button for streaming audio |
