The Little Monkeys

Phoo and Paddles were two baby monkeys who lived in the jungle; their mother had been killed defending them from predators, so they were all on their own, and because they were so young and hadn’t been taught how to forage for food yet they were very thin and very hungry. One day they were huddled together in a tree, when two humans men Daz and Diage decided to go in to the jungle to collect fire wood for their families. They were looking up in the trees when they saw the two little thin monkeys, and they new they had to try and do some thing to help them, so they both sat down very quietly at the bottom of the tree the two monkeys were in to see if they would come down, well the monkeys did venture down a little way but as they were not used to seeing humans they didn’t get too close, so Daz and Diage decided they would leave the jungle and come back the next day with some fruit for the little monkeys as they may be able to encourage them down so they could have some thing to eat. So the next day Diage and Daz went back to the jungle with some fruit they spread it out on the ground and sat very quiet, but the monkeys only came a little way down, so the two men got up and walked a little way away from the tree, well Phoo being the more adventures of the two monkeys went down and grab an apple and began to eat it he then grab another piece of fruit and run back up the tree, when the men looked up at the tree the saw that Phoo had given Paddles some of the fruit. Well gradually each day the two men took food to the jungle, and the little monkeys were coming closer and closer until they were right beside the two men, they were even letting the men touch them. But the next day went Diage and Daz went in to the jungle only Paddles came down and he was making quiet a racket the two men looked up the tree and saw poor little Phoo had blood on her leg, she had gone down the tree the day before and another big monkey had attacked her, she had managed to get away but not before the other monkey had given her a terrible bite to her leg. Diage and Daz knew they had to try and coax her down so they could help her so they spread all the food out on the ground, after a little while Phoo did come down and as the two little monkeys were letting the men touch them now the got hold of Phoo and looked at her badly bitten leg, so they decided it was time to take the little monkeys out of the jungle and get them some help. So they picked Paddles and Phoo up and took them to the wild life monkey park so they could be treated and well looked after and well fed. Once Phoo and Paddles had got a bit bigger and were able to feed them self’s and defend them self’s the wild park staff took them back to another part of the jungle with a group of other monkeys, where they made their home and all looked out for each other. May be one day if ever you go to the jungle you may see Phoo and Paddles with their children and grand children.
