COFFEE AT TIAMO'S - Part 3
Mary was so happy Jack had got in touch
with her again. They had a long talk and decided they wanted to spend
their lives together.
When Mary’s daughter, Rachel, was told of their plans she was so
delighted for them. Rachel and her friend Alison set about arranging a
special meal for Mary and Jack in her cottage. Preparations went ahead
and a beautiful table was laid in Honey Pot Cottage for them all.
Jack took Rachel to one side and said that he wanted to propose to her
mother and would like her approval. Rachel replied: ‘I’m delighted and I
know Mum will be too.’ They all sat down to a beautifully laid table.
Jack had such a nervous feeling hoping Mary would not refuse him again.
When the meal had nearly finished Jack gave a small cough, then stood
up. Going down on one knee, he took out a small blue velvet box from his
pocket. He opened it and there, in the box, was a sparkling diamond
solitaire ring, which shone and reflected against the leaded windows of
the cottage.
Jack took the ring out of the box and said to Mary: ‘I would like you to
have this ring and also, Mary darling, will you be my wife?’ Mary
blushed and replied quickly: ‘Yes Jack I would love to be your wife.’
They all then started making arrangements as and where the marriage
should take place. At last plans were made and the wedding was to take
place at a little church in Stockport but what Jack and Mary wanted most
of all was to have a meal after their wedding at that special place
where they had first met.
Which was, of course, Tiamo’s.
