The friendly Steam engine
Go down to the station
you will be in for a treat,
There’s a friendly steam engine
for you to meet,
He pulls out of the station
with a smile on his face,
So Magestic
and so full of grace,
He chugs along
as he goes down the track,
Staring ahead
and not looking back,
An elderly gent
waves as it goes by,
Then takes out a tissue
wipes a tear from his eye
From off the bridge
in the few spaces,
Children Lean over
with smoke on their faces.
Waving their hands
and swaying in tune,
Pleading "don’t go away
please come back soon."
