Poetic Snacks Part 3
Knowing You Care
Your shoulder to cry on,
Your hand to hold.
A little kind word,
To me is pure gold.
Your hug when I’m crying,
Your kiss that is true.
It’s the reason I know,
Why I’ll always love you.
Your arm around my waist,
The twinkle in your eye.
Tells me the reason,
You love me and why.
Women of the World Unite
Women of the world unite,
Together we can show our might.
No one can ever break our band,
If together we make a stand.
Don’t just stand and wash a dish,
Get a rod and catch some fish.
Don’t just clean and wash and dust,
Go out and learn to drive a bus.
Woman is as strong as man,
We can do all they can.
If we all together come,
All sorts of triumphs can be won.
Women of the world unite,
Show our strengths both day and night.
We can still be kind and sweet,
But we must stand on our own two feet.
Abuse
You try to avoid those cold blue eyes,
You don’t know what to do.
You know the drink has made him mad,
You know he’ll just blame you.
You’re not sure where to look,
You feel his angry stare.
You’re too scared to look around,
You know that he won’t care.
You know you should get away,
Or it will be too late.
You will never leave that place,
You know your life he’ll take.
So hold your courage and be brave,
Then a future you will see.
Run away from that man,
And at last you will be free.
