Poems by Nelferch Merchoed
Maere
I am dancing in a sea of grass
Where once the wind with gentle touch drew
Spiraling ripples on the water:
The mirror of the stars.
I sing into a purple twilight
Where night rises from apple groves
And a pale moon evokes thin veils of mist
Hovering above a grassy sea.
The heron flies to the great island,
But I am waiting here
Sending my soul to search You.
A little stag approaches me.
The living token of the hart-lake
- lake of my heart -
Holding enclosed the hill
Proudly erected.
My soul is breathing waves of love
Upon Your shore
Embracing You
In moments of eternity.
