Poems by Nelferch Merchoed
Etain speaks to Midhir
For G. N.
In the darkest hour of the night,
When dawn is near,
Longed for most eargerly,
A thread of dreams
Was weaving a tight net
Around my sleeping self,
A tapestry of joys and fears and sorrows
past and yet to be:
Orchestra suite of fantasy and bright illusion,
When suddenly a strange and eerie tune intruded,
And carried me to waters -crystal clear-
Unfathomable depths of blue,
Stirring my body and my soul
To high awareness
With biting cold and searing heat
An ever changing rhythm,
With feathers white enfolding me,
Embracing me,
Caressing me,
Softest of touch –
My joy like honey streaming,
With sweet, heart-breaking song:
A chain –unbreakable-
By which you tied my soul to Yours
Through all the worlds,
Through all the time,
From life to life and far beyond.
