SOMETHING DIFFERENT ABOUT AUTUMN
There was something different about Autumn this year
My heart it is sad for my love is not here.
Through soft spring rain and summer sky
We laughed and played, our love could not die.
With happy awakening to the day we were blessed
And wonderful nights when the sun went to rest.
The silver moon and stars shining bright
While we were lovers in the night.
We were possessed with each other's charms
And I was content within his arms.
September came and leaves turned to gold,
We still were together though love turned cold.
The winds of autumn blew dead leaves from the trees
And my lover was gone like a sigh on the breeze.
Our love it has died and away it has flown,
Now it is winter and I am alone.
