My Garden Part two.
Once again winter is here. I missed a lot of time in my garden in the
summer months this year because my husband and I were visiting family in
Canada. We thought a lot about our garden but how would it look like
when we arrived back in England after spending two months in Canada? But
what a lovely surprise awaited us, my family all took turns to attend to
it. The colours were vibrant along with a well manicured lawn.
We love our little garden, which gives us so much pleasure, being able
to spend just one hour weather permitting to potter around and tidy up.
It does not matter what season it is to me they are all beautiful. The
winter as now brings so many delights to see especially the visiting of
different birds; the robin is always on time for his little snacks along
with the magpies and sparrows and many other species. On our travels we
purchased a small bird box from a gift shop, there is a battery
underneath it so when it is hung up on a tree and somebody walks past it
sings like a bird, it is so funny to see when a squirrel runs up and
down and the bird box starts singing. The squirrel must like it becomes
it comes back every day.
There are still some vivid colours left in our garden. The few remaining
red berries glisten like little red Jewels against a pale blue sky. With
a backdrop of different shades of greens from the conifer trees ,where
magpies have made a nest, the two wood pigeons high up in the old oak
tree still wake me up early every morning . All this beauty around me is
sheer joy to watch.
