My Garden
I love my little Garden.
Which was created with hard work, loving care and with a lot of help
from Gods creation. It feels really romantic in the morning with dew on
the grass, or if it is a balmy evening. I love to sit under my pagoda
and take in all the fragrant smells around me from all the different
flowers and shrubs that are in season at the time. I especially love the
lavender and honeysuckle, also eucalyptus, perfect for flower arranging.
My garden has become an added room to my house bringing in so much
enjoyment. Watching all the different species of birds for example: blue
tits, wrens and robins all nesting in different boxes around the garden:
two wood pigeons, that wake me up each morning, high up in an oak tree.
There is also a visit each day from grey squirrels. Such a hive of
activity and sheer joy to watch. I am also very fortunate to be able to
use so many herbs that have been planted chives thyme, sage, rosemary,
basil mint, lemon balm and a bay tree to name just a few helping to
flavour my cooking. There is some rhubarb and tomatoes, lettuce and
radishes for salads and nasturtium flowers for decoration. I have so
many varieties of plants coming up each season of the year and it is
really delightful waiting for these seasons to come. I moved to my
present home seven years ago and all that was in the garden was a lilac
tree and lawn which wasn't in good condition but it had wonderful soil
which had been farmland before. This could be the secret of my success
in creating this busy garden. That, and like I said, hard work. I am
enjoying it so very much indeed.
