The assistive technology that is available in Stockport libraries for
the public to use includes
Browse Aloud-text to speech software for use on the Internet
Supernova-magnification and text to speech software that can be used
with Word, the Internet etc.
Windows built-in features i.e. magnification, narrator, on screen
keyboard and accessibility wizard
Flexible height workstation with large monitor
Large lettered keyboard
Kidglove keyboard
Roller ball mouse
At Central, Hazel Grove, Heald Green and The Heatons libraries we also
have some extra software
Prisma-CCTV magnification for any printed or hand written document
Cicero-software that scans printed texts and translates the text into
speech
Read & Write-software to help with the reading and writing of English
We are happy to offer small groups and individuals taster sessions on
any of the software, at any library in Stockport.
